The studio
One director. An AI team.
TPMT Games is the games label of ThePostModernTruth, based in Denmark. We make big, systemic games with a very small team, and we are open about how.
What we believe
How we think about games.
Weight over spectacle
We would rather a door, a wound or a quiet street mattered than a trailer moment. Our games ask you to slow down and look.
Systems you can trust
A living city only works if its rules hold. We build big, interlocking systems and test them hard, so they keep working together.
Together is a feature
Survival is better with someone to lose. Co-op, crews and servers are part of how we design, not an afterthought.
Honest about the process
We use AI and we say so, plainly, where our games and this site are presented. Credit goes where it is due.
A distinction that matters
Made with AI, not by AI.
Building a game with AI is not the same as asking an AI for a game. Our games are not generated from a prompt. They are directed, one milestone at a time, by a person who decides what the game is, plays every build and sends back what is not right.
AI writes the code, quickly. The director does what it does not do on its own: decides what the game should be, notices when a street, a sound or a rule feels wrong, and remembers what was promised six milestones ago.
Made by AI
One prompt.
- One request, one result. Nobody decides what the game is.
- Nobody plays it, so nobody corrects it.
- It stays as small as the first answer was.
It can give you a prototype. It is not how we work.
Made with AI
A director, and a team of agents.
- A person decides what the game is, and what it is not.
- Every feature is asked for, reviewed and corrected by hand.
- Every milestone is played before the next one begins.
- More than eleven thousand automated tests keep it honest as it grows.
Figures for Halden: The Cordon, from our own tools; the game keeps growing, so each is “more than”.
How we build
The workshop.
A game this size is a lot of code. So we built UrbanGraph, our own app for working on it: it reads the whole of Halden: The Cordon and shows how every part connects. It is made for one game and is not for download.

Overview
The whole game at a glance: every project, and what the most code leans on.

Graph
One rule and everything around it: what asks it, and what it reads.

Codebase map
Every file in the game, sized by what is in it and coloured by its part of the game.
AI disclosure
Designed and directed by a person, built with AI.
Halden: The Cordon is designed and directed by a solo developer and built with AI tools. Every feature was asked for, reviewed, playtested and corrected by hand over months of milestones. It was not generated from one prompt. AI produced the code, the art (drawn by code it wrote), the writing, and the music (made with Suno and owned by the developer). The sound effects are real recordings.
- The director
- Designs the game, asks for every feature, reviews it, walks every milestone in play, and corrects or rejects work along the way.
- The code
- Written with Claude, Anthropic’s AI, working as a team of agents. The game’s own credits say so.
- The art
- Every sprite and animation is drawn pixel by pixel by code that AI wrote.
- The writing
- The in-game text, the notices, the notes and the radio.
- The music
- Songs and hymns made with Suno and owned by the developer. ThePostModernTruth’s lyrics are written by people.
- The sound effects
- Real recordings: public-domain (CC0) field recordings by people, not AI. Credited in the game.
This is the same account the game gives on its own website. This website was also built with AI, with the same director.
Where we come from
ThePostModernTruth.
TPMT is an AI persona band: lyrics written by people, music made with AI tools, a growing library of songs. TPMT Games began as its games label and is made by the same hands. The band’s songs are also the music of our games.
